Islonia is an absurdist micronation with territorial pretensions encompassing Dry Island - an island situated near Badachro harbour, in Gairloch, Scotland.[1]
Inspired by the 2010 British general election campaign, it was created by its owners and permanent residents, Ian McWhinney and his partner Jess Dodd as "a bit of fun", and as a vehicle for promoting commercial tourism to the island.
