We Could Have Invited Everyone was a micronation-themed art exhibition conceived and curated by Robert Blackson and Peter Coffin.

It was initially hosted at the Vardy Gallery, at the University of Sunderland, in the United Kingdom, from 10 November to 17 December 2004.[1] The following year it was re-staged at the Andrew Kreps Gallery, in New York City, from 24 June to 29 July.

The exhibition explored the evolving nature of sovereignty and national identity in the modern world, and brought together such artefacts as flags, coins, stamps, banknotes, medals, regalia, uniforms and passports from a number of notable micronations.

A "summit of micronations" was also held in conjunction with each staging of the exhibition. The Sunderland event was attended by Danny Wallace from Lovely, James Bates and Geoffrey Withers from Sealand and George MacLean from Atlantium. The New York summit took place at New School University on 23 June 2005, and was attended by Gregory Green from Caroline, Raymond Loretan, Swiss Consul General in New York and Jonathan Bach, Associate Professor of International Affairs at The New School.[2]

In 2007 We Could Have Invited Everyone became the basis of a larger exhibition - États: faites-le vous-même / States: grow your own - which took place at the Palais de Tokyo contemporary art museum in Paris, France, from 1 February to 6 May.
